2024 VCNP Annual Conference

March 13-16, 2024 at the Williamsburg Lodge

310 S. England Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185

Colonial Williamsburg is a fitting backdrop as the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners marks this historic milestone - 50 years of advancing our profession! The planning committee has assembled a diverse cadre of speakers on a variety of topics to enhance practice and patient care. Check this page often for updates as planning and communication continues to unfold.

CONFERENCE APP:

Did you know VCNP has a Conference App? Visit your Apple or Google app store and search VCNP CONFERENCE to install and access information about the conference right from your phone home screen! View the agenda, see your schedule, view the powerpoints, check out the speaker bios…and MORE!

You can also donate to PAC on the app. Just log in to the attendee portal, click on "Tools,” choose "Purchase Additional Events/Materials,” scroll down to "Extras” and "Donate to PAC.”

HOTEL CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT:

Check-in is at 4 pm and Check-out is at 11 am. There are breaks each morning to help with checking out.

We negotiated complimentary self-parking for our attendees. There is a fee for valet parking.

As you arrive, you can temporarily park in the circle outside the main building. Hotel check-in staff will share where to park so you are close to your room.

SPONSORED LUNCHES & BREAKFAST:

On Thursday, March 14, we have three sponsored lunches; seating is limited, and RSVPs are requested and must be made online by clicking on each of the topic names in blue:

Closing the CRC Screening Gaps: Integrating Screening Protocols, Improving Participation with Jason Bain, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC; Sponsored by Exact Sciences

Examining the Patient with X-linked Hypophosphosphatemia: Diagnostic and Management Needs with Nancy Dunbar, MD/MPH; Sponsored by Kyowa Kirin

Achieve Meaningful Long Term Weight Loss with Wegovy with Jeffrey M. Sicat, MD, FACE, FOMA; Sponsored by Novo Nordisk

We also have a sponsored breakfast opportunity on Saturday, March 16. The topic is KCENTRA with John Luber, MD; Sponsored by CSL Behring

Please RSVP HERE above for the Breakfast.

BREAKOUT SESSION UPDATES:

A couple of breakout sessions that were originally on the agenda have been removed due to speaker conflicts. If you "signed up” for one of those sessions when you registered, you are welcome to attend one of the other sessions; all breakout sessions are first come, first served and are full when the seats in the room are filled, not based on registration sign-ups. Please refer to the conference app or printed agenda at the conference to see which sessions are available for each time slot.

FREE TIME & DISCOUNT WILLIAMSBURG TICKETS:

In addition to on-site pools and a fitness room that provide towels, VCNP has negotiated complimentary historic shuttle services and discounted ticket rates to the historic area, which is right at the doorstep of the hotel! There is a representative in the hotel lobby who can assist with historic-area questions and tickets. There is also a golf course and an on-site spa. Here's a link to on-site experiences.

LOCAL RESTAURANTS:

If you are not attending one of Thursday's sponsored lunches, or need suggestions for dinner Thursday or Friday night after the Anniversary Bash, there are several on-site restaurants, and we are beside the Williamsburg Inn with lovely grounds and restaurants. Colonial Williamsburg is across the street, and Merchant's Square is 0.5 mile away and SO very worth it (Berret'sThe Cheese Shop, and Fat Canary are favorites!). Pack comfy shoes and explore!

CONFERENCE CHARITY:

Traditionally every VCNP Conference "gives back” to the hosting region's community by adopting a "conference charity” to support. This year's conference charity is Williamsburg House of Mercy. You can learn more about their mission at their website: https://link.edgepilot.com/s/8a1e80c5/aGS28JJ560q3zVuvyI4djg?u=https://williamsburghouseofmercy.org/. You can also make direct monetary donations there.

During the conference we are collecting durable goods for their food pantry, such as toiletries, cleaning supplies, and non-perishable food. And their most pressing need is small food items for their "To Go Bags” to help feed the homeless between meals a WHOM. Those items include: cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, microwaveable bowls and meals, tuna packets, granola bars, fruit cups, or any other individual portion ready-to-eat foods.

QUESTIONS?

If you have any further questions, email Christy Jenkins at Christy.jenkins@easterassociates.com. Conference week is busy, but we are never to busy to answer a question, and hope you will have a wonderful experience at the Williamsburg Lodge!
