Olivia Newby, DNP, FNP-BC, CDCES, FAANP

Dr. Olivia Newby has practiced as a family nurse practitioner for over 25 years. She is a certified diabetes educator, for over 10 years, in an urban primary care medical practice and a 'Prevent Type 2' certified lifestyle coach; diabetes has been forefront in her clinical practice. Dr. Newby is an entrepreneur/owner of Healthy Living Center (HLC) in Norfolk, a nonprofit organization, where she focuses on implementing innovative ways to reduce the health disparity within the community by addressing social determinants of health. As president of HLC, her leadership for diabetes management achieved over 75% required goals, thus obtaining accreditation from the American Association of Diabetes Educator (AADE) and the Center for Disease Control "full recognition" and 100% achievement for their diabetes prevention program.

Rachel Featherstone, MSN, PMHNP, WHNP, PMH-C

Rachel “Featherstone” Featherstone's career in healthcare began in 2005, with experiences spanning emergency medical services, labor and delivery, behavioral health, sexual health, and psychedelic medicine. They received their Master's of Science in Nursing: Women's Health, and their Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychiatry/Mental Health Nursing from Frontier Nursing University in 2019 and 2021, respectively. They have a sub-specialty certification in Perinatal Mental Health, issued 2021. Featherstone has presented with Postpartum Support International on various topics related to perinatal mental health, as well as the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, Montana Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies, Idaho Sexual Health Professionals, among others.

Their areas of interest include mental health and sexuality after reproductive life events, eating disorders, stigma of sexually-transmitted infections, and erotically-marginalized populations.

Stéphanie B. Mayer, MD MHSc

Dr. Stephanie B. Mayer is an endocrinologist in Richmond, Virginia and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including VCU Medical Center and Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center-Richmond. She received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and has been in practice between 11-20 years.

Margaret Teu, DNP, FNP-BC, WHNP-BC, CNE, CDP, CME

Dr. Margaret Teu, DNP, RN, LNP, WHNP-BC, FNP-BC, CNE, CDP, CME has been a nurse practitioner for over 15 years. She received a BA in history from James Madison University in 2002. After graduation, she took a position in a physician's office that ignited her passion for nursing and healthcare, specifically women's health. She attended Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing and obtained her diploma in nursing in 2005. She then continued her education at the graduate level at Virginia Commonwealth University where she obtained a Master of Science in nursing with a focus on women's health. Dr. Teu earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice terminal degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in 2011. Her capstone research focused on patient education prevention interventions related to sexually transmitted infection prevention. In 2016, Dr. Teu obtained a post master's certificate as a family nurse practitioner from Maryville University. Dr. Teu has served as an MSN FNP program director, regional program director, and assistant dean for graduate nursing programs. Dr. Teu has the rank of associate professor and teaches graduate courses in women's health, physical assessment, pathophysiology, pharmacology, advanced disease process and role of the advanced practice nurse. She has an extensive clinical background in infectious disease, women's health, medical aesthetics, adult-gerontology, regenerative medicine, and medical weight loss. Dr. Teu is board certified by the National Credentialing Center as a women's health nurse practitioner and board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner and certified by the National League of Nursing as a nurse educator. She is currently pursuing her PhD in nursing at Florida State University. Dr. Teu lives in Richmond, VA with her three dogs- Kevin, Linda, and Sassy. She enjoys reading, travelling, trashy reality TV, and spending time with family and friends.

Michael Strunc, MD

Dr. Strunc specializes in child neurologist and sleep medicine, with a special interest in where these disciplines overlap. Retired after 20 years in the Navy, he has a special understanding of the stresses families undergo in a very mobile society and in the many different families that make up our population. He is passionate about sleep and how dysfunctional sleep affects a child and the entire family. His fellowships were in child neurology and sleep medicine.

Dr. Strunc has three teenagers who have educated him over the past 20 years about the issues children face to include how social stressors, school, sports, and social media can work against healthy sleep habits. Dr. Strunc sees patients in sleep medicine, as well as neurology at CHKD.

Jeanette Amery, DNP, AGACNP-BC

Jeanette Amery is an acute care nurse practitioner with nine years of experience in abdominal solid organ transplantation. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 2014 and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020. Jeanette started her career as an NP in Los Angeles at Cedars Sinai Medical Center; moved to Richmond Virginia and joined the Division of Transplant Surgery at VCU; and now lives in Washington DC where she works for the GW Transplant Institute at George Washington University Hospital. There she leads a team of inpatient and outpatient APPs providing comprehensive care for patients undergoing liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, sweating in group fitness classes, traveling as much as possible --- AND recruiting NPs to join her at GW as their transplant team continues to grow.

Sarah Krzastek, MD

Dr. Sarah C. Krzastek is an urologist at Central Virginia Medical Center. She completed her urology residency at VCU in 2018. She then received fellowship training in Andrology and Men's Health at University of Virginia in 2019. At that time, she joined the Urology faculty at VCU and became a full-time faculty member at CVVHCS. She currently serves as the Associate Chief of Urology at CVVHCS, and she is the CVVHCS site director or the VCU Urology residency program. Her research interests include hypogonadism, male infertility, and novel therapies for treatment of erectile dysfunction.
