Wendy L. Wright,

Wendy received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2019 from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. She is a 1992 graduate of the Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts and completed a family nurse practitioner post-master's program in 1995. She is an adult and family nurse practitioner and the owner of two, nurse practitioner owned and operated clinics within New Hampshire named: Wright & Associates Family Healthcare. Her family practices have won numerous awards, including Top Providers in New Hampshire 2018, Top 20 Fastest Growing Family Business, and Top 20 Women-Owned Business in New Hampshire. In addition, she is the Owner of Partners in Healthcare Education, a medical education company. She is the Past President of NPACE and the Senior lecturer for Fitzgerald Health Education Associates.

She is the recipient of numerous awards and was chosen by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as the 1999 recipient of the New Hampshire State Excellence Award. In addition, she received the 2009 NH Nurse Practitioner of the Year and the 2014 Top 5 Women in New Hampshire Business Award. In 2005, she was inducted as a Fellow into the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; in October 2014, a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, and in March 2017, a Fellow into the National Academies of Practice.

She is the founder of the NH Chamber of Entrepreneurial Nurse Practitioners, an organization designed to assist nurse practitioners with independent practice issues. In addition to full-time clinical practice, she presents nationally to different audiences and has been a speaker at over 1000 conferences in 47 states. She is the nurse practitioner representative to the State of NH Immunization Advisory Board. She has been a medical media spokesperson for numerous companies and has appeared on radio, television, and in print magazines. Wendy is frequently consulted by malpractice attorneys around the area of clinical practice and has worked on more than 100 malpractice cases involving nurses and nurse practitioners.

Mark Coles' nursing career spans three continents and over 40 years. He is an NP Hospitalist with Sentara. For VCNP, Mr Coles served for many years initially as Tidewater GR Chair and ultimately VCNP State Government Relations Chair. Mark was the initial VCNP representative to the Virginia Center for Health Innovation and remains currently appointed to the Advisory Committee of the Joint Boards of Medicine and Nursing. Mark has been a front-line advocate for NP autonomous practice for more than twenty years.

Maribeth has been a member of VCNP since 1996. Her first role was as program director for the Blue Ridge Region. She became president of the Blue Ridge Region in 2008. She was state Bylaws Chair in 2011 and 2012 and then became the State President-elect from 2012 to 2014 and State President from 2014 to 2016. She is currently the State past president and remains active in her local region as well.

Mary is an acute care nurse practitioner with 20 years experience in medicine, cardiovascular, thoracic surgery and trauma critical care. She is currently working as a hospitalist NP for a large family practice group. Mary is an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies, teaching courses in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. Mary has spoken locally and nationally on a variety of acute care topics, and is a guest lecturer in the NP program at University of Virginia. She is a past member of the Advisory Committee to the Joint Boards of Nursing and Medicine in Virginia. Nationally, as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners State Representative for Virginia Mary advocates for full practice authority for nurse practitioners. She is a fellow of the AANP.

Dr. Hills joined the leadership team as Deputy Executive Director for Advanced Practice at the Virginia Board of Nursing in September 2017. Prior to transitioning to her role as a regulator, Dr. Hills served on the faculty of Vanderbilt University and Virginia Commonwealth University. Her practice as a women's health nurse practitioner focused on providing health care to the underserved women in the MetroRichmond area.

Sara has been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years. Most of her career has been spent working with adolescents and young adults with chronic illness. Recent publications include the topics of transition and DNP leadership.

Dr. Johnson is Professor and Vice Chair of Pharmacy Practice and Director of Postgraduate Education at the Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy, Shenandoah University. He practices in internal medicine and infectious diseases at Winchester Medical Center. His teaching and research include infectious diseases, spirituality in healthcare, pharmacy postgraduate education. He gives New Drug Updates several times a year locally and within the state. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy and completed residency training at VCU Health System.
